Canada Winter Ice Caves

Below Zero

Canada

This was a pretty scary place to be in. I had to hike across a frozen river to get out to this frozen cave. The water below the ice was a very active fast flowing river. Crazy to feel the rapids hit the ice under my feet. Hoping the ice was thick enough, you pray you don't step on a thin spot and fall under the ice into the river. Once in the cave I really just wanted to photograph it and then get the heck out of it. Just because I shoot landscapes docent mean that there are environment that do not frighten me. As I get oder I find myself more focused on safety and just let some shots go. I love life too much to put myself in harms way for a photo. This place felt like I was outside of my comfort zone.
