One Last Look
Yellowstone National Park
This is my favorite place on earth. I have no idea why I shoot it so often. I have already shot it in the best light, best conditions, yet I still keep shooting it over and over. I cannot explain the feeling that comes over me when I am here. This is my most favorite place on earth to stand. I cannot even articulate the emotion, not sure why? This is my place, this one belongs to me and has a permanent stamp on my soul. Powerful, beautiful, dramatic, quiet, stunning. When I am done shooting and I pack up my gear and put my camera away, I start my hike out. I always stop before the scene goes behind the trees and turn around and take 1 last look for the fear I will never see it again. If it is the last time I ever get to see it, I want to say a proper goodbye to my friend. I do not take a minute of this for granted. Photo © copyright by Laurie R. Martin.
