I know from spending all day out shooting in negative temps how cold my hands can get. A bit scary when I cannot feel my hands or my hand burn like they are on fire from the extreme cold. Punishing winds add to the the discomfort. All of the discomfort is worth the pain when you are able to travel upon scenes like this. When I see this particular image it takes me right back to the day I was there and it reminds me of the coldness I felt in my hands. Fingers locked up with a good ways still to go before getting out of the extreme climate. Photo © copyright by Laurie R. Martin.
