Since I am a girl that has been around horses her entire life, I am immediately drawn away from the landscapes in Iceland straight to the Icelandic Ponies. These sturdy little Ponies are pretty tough. They brave the cold temps and also are used for long day rides through the Iceland plains. It is always a special moment to catch them out in an open field. They are very friendly and naturally very curious about people so they usually gravitate right over to people but keep a short distance to observe. Photo © copyright by Laurie R. Martin.
